Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. She was raised listening to classical, old boleros and traditional romantic and Ranchero songs. Ana is passionate about tangos and opera, and all dramatic performances. Ana started learning how to play and sing from an early age, along alongside her mother. The formal vocal training when she was 16 years old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. After relocating into the United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current residence in the southern part of California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. The love she has for the performing arts, music, as well as the arts keeps active in community projects in both her capacity as an artist and teacher. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher in the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly for the young generation, for keeping this music vibrant.
