Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actor, known for her roles in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Her career began in the 1980s. Her character as Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab made her incredibly well-known. Then, she starred alongside Aamir as part of Dil. As a young teenager in Mumbai's middle class she learned to dance. As a teenager she started acting, and struggled for years because most of her early films failed. She found fame and became one of India's top movie actresses. Following her wedding, she took some time to rest from her acting career before returning. Recently, she had an important part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize in India is bestowed to her. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the social sector.
